Obtaining additional power to expand the capacity of an existing sound system is a frequent requirement.  The "Booster Out" feature of the new Davis "A" series of mixer and power amplifiers affords an easy solution to this problem.

Just connect the Booster Out connections of the "A" series amplifiers to the AUX input of the existing amplifier.  Then, switch the microphone and/or other program sources from the old amplifier to the new "A" series amplifier to make it the primary source for the system.

Technically, the Booster Out circuit obtains a signal from the preamp which can be connected to the AUX input of the second amplifier.  Since the signal of the amplifiers is coupled, the power of each additional amplifier becomes available to the system.

If none of the amplifiers that you are using has a Booster Out jack, the amplifiers may still be coupled using either the Davis AO-1 Add-On-Amp or the Davis AT-20C attenuator.  In this instance, the speaker output tap (4 Ohm, 8 Ohm or 70 volt) of the first amplifier is connected through the AO-1 or the AT-20C to the AUX input of the second amplifier.

Note that in all cases the amplifiers are coupled but not combined.  As shown in the diagram above, the speaker lines from each amplifier must be used separately.  The common element in the system is the signal.
